New York Yankees check in on Twins second baseman Brian Dozier

According to Jon Heyman of Today’s Knuckleball and FanRag Sports, the New York Yankees have reached out to the Twins’ slugging second baseman, Brian Dozier.

Heyman reports that Minnesota has been shopping around their slugging second baseman and New York’s interest is present, yet unknown.

In 155 games in 2016, Dozier slashed .268/.340/.546 with 40 home runs and 99 RBI’s while recording three defensive runs saved with his glove.

Although the Bombers have Starlin Castro, who became the fourth Yankees’ second baseman in history to hit more than 20 home runs in a season, at the position, one could wonder if a trade involving Chase Headley would make way for Castro to shift to third and open the door for Dozier’s game-changing bat.
