CC Sabathia is nearing the end of his major league career, and he’s hoping to prolong the very conclusion of it. The New York Yankees are 95-51 and legitimate World Series contenders.
With lingering issues in his knee, Sabathia could’ve very well gotten surgery this year. However, the long-time starting pitcher decided not to, due to the fact that his team is doing so well.
“I think if this team wasn’t in a position to win a championship, I probably would have had the surgery a long time ago,” Sabathia said, per Dan Martin of the New York Post.
