Earlier in September, New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez left the second game of a doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers with a left groin strain. He hasn’t played since.
However, things are looking optimistic for Sanchez. While undergoing rehab and making progress with his recovery, Sanchez is hopeful he’ll be back and healthy for the eventual postseason.
“Right now with everything I’ve done, I feel better,” Sanchez said after working out at the ballclub’s Tampa complex this week, per Marly Rivera of ESPN. “Hopefully in the next few days, with all I have to do, and after working with the trainers, I can feel the way I feel now.
