The New York Yankees have announced that they have completed the trade from April 17 with the Pittsburgh Pirates. After originally sending them Johnny Barbato, the player to be named later is a right-handed prospect in Matt Frawley.
Frawley was selected out of Purdue University in the 17th round of last year’s June Amateur Draft and the 21-year-old has already gotten off to a great start to his professional career.
In 37 career relief appearances in Pittsburgh’s short-season Class-A affiliate, last season and Single-A affiliate this season, Frawley owns a 2.66 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 33.
