The New York Yankees universe is on the edge of its seat, anticipating a possible Gerrit Cole signing. Well, everyone except for Bombers skipper Aaron Boone, who is taking a more zen approach to the situation:
“If it’s meant to be, it will,” Boone said in a YES Network appearance, referencing his team’s pursuit of Cole.
Boone also expressed confidence that New York’s current roster is “elite.” And he added that he has no say in any contract negotiations between Cole and the Bombers anyway.
Such statements may explain his apparent ambivalence regarding Cole.
