New York Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone posted on Instagram Friday morning that he will be joining The Players Alliance by donating his salary to the organization for the days of August 27th and 28th, which is also Jackie Robinson Day. This will go to supporting the Players Alliance’s efforts to combat racial inequality and aid the Black families and communities who have been affected in the wake of recent events.
The Players Alliance’s goal that is on their website reads:
“We are more than 100 black current and former professional baseball players, united to use our collective voice and platform to create increased opportunities for the black community in every aspect of our game and beyond.
