It was a fantastic year for the New York Yankees and manager Aaron Boone, despite coming up short in the postseason. For the second consecutive campaign, the Bombers finished with at least 100 wins. This year, they ended the regular season with a record of 103-59.
Due to the success, both on the field and in the clubhouse, Boone has been nominated for the American League Manager of the Year Award. The Baseball Writers Association of America nominated two other managers as well. Tampa Bay Rays skipper Kevin Cash and Minnesota Twins skipper Rocco Baldelli were also selected as candidates for the honor.
