Aaron Hicks certainly hasn’t hit anything anywhere near the sticks in his five ALCS plate appearances. Still, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone is pumped to have him back.
Hicks walked twice in his four times up in Game 3, both passes coming against Houston Astros ace Gerrit Cole. It was only Hicks’ second game back from a flexor strain that had sidelined him since the first week of August.
Following the game, Boone told the New York Post’s Dan Martin that he was “encouraged” by Hicks’ performance.
