New York Yankees second baseman DJ LeMahieu’s knee is still sore, but he thinks he can return Friday against the Minnesota Twins. Erik Boland of Newsday reported the update on LeMahieu’s status.
LeMahieu suffered the injury when he fouled a ball off his knee in New York’s game against the San Francisco Giants last Friday. He played Saturday and went 1-for-3, and started Sunday before being lifted in the third inning. X-rays on the knee came back negative and an MRI only showed inflammation.
Despite that, DJ LeMahieu feels ready for a return soon.
