New Yankees’ lefty prospect dominates in minor-league win

TAMPA, Fla. — Justus Sheffield allowed just three hits over six innings, leading the Tampa Yankees over the Clearwater Threshers in a 1-0 win in the second game of a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Dillon McNamara got Derek Campbell to hit into a double play with runners on first and second to end the game for his 11th save of the season.

Sheffield (2-0) picked up the win after he struck out three and walked one. The left-hander was one of the young prospects the Yankees acquired in the Andrew Miller trade to the Indians.

The game’s only run was scored in the bottom of the second inning.
