The Yankees, unexpectedly in a race for a playoff spot, acquired third baseman Todd Frazier and relievers David Robertson and Tommy Kahnle from the Chicago White Sox for reliever Tyler Clippard and three prospects on Tuesday.
The Yankees, currently in the second AL wild-card spot, are 3.5 games behind the AL East-leading Boston Red Sox.

Todd Frazier is the newest Yankees slugger, but he's not new to New Jerseyans who followed him in Toms River and at Rutgers
"It should tell them, 'Hey, we're in this,' and we need to continue to play and play hard and play better than we've done," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said after a 6-3 victory in Minnesota.
