The Yankees are embracing their “Out with the old, in with the new” mentality more than ever before, and so far it seems to be working.
Newcomers Tyler Austin and Aaron Judge hit home runs in their first career at-bats, two of the Yankees’ five homers in an 8-4 victory over the Rays on Saturday, and Masahiro Tanaka pitched seven innings for the first time in over a month.
More importantly, the Yankees, who honored their 1996 World Series winning team before the game, won for a fourth straight time as they hope their revamped roster can put them in the playoff picture.
