Aaron Boone won’t be in the dugout Sunday afternoon for the Yankees’ finale against the Tigers, as the rookie manager will serve a one-game suspension for his epic argument and ejection during Friday’s win in The Bronx.
The announcement was made Sunday by Joe Torre, chief baseball officer for MLB, after Boone was tossed in the bottom of the fifth Friday.
Boone was upset with home plate umpire Nic Lentz’s strike zone and was ejected while he was still in the dugout.
He then raced onto the field and screamed at Lentz, appearing to bump the umpire’s hat with his own.
