One of baseball's most recognizable faces just got, well, more recognizable.
Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper shaved his trademark beard before Monday's makeup games against the Yankees.
While Harper most likely did it as a way to snap out of slump at the plate (he's hitting a career-worst .212 this season), or because the triple-digit DC heat was too much to bear with facial hair, conspiracy theorists see something else at play.
Namely, was it a coincidence Harper shaved his beard before facing the Yankees, a team with a well-known policy regarding facial hair, and a team expected to chase the outfielder in free agency following the 2018 MLB season.
