MLB Rumor Central: Will Yankees bid on Yulieski Gourriel?

The New York Yankees could be one of the teams in the market for Cuban defector Yulieski Gourriel, suggests Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

Gourriel, a third baseman and second baseman who is believed to be 32 years old, was declared a free agent by Major League Baseball on Monday, making him eligible to sign with any club.

Both New York teams have been mentioned as possible suitors for Gourriel, but Sherman suggests the Yankees are "a more likely player" noting their international scouting director, Donny Rowland, is said to hold Gourriel in high regard.
