MLB Draft 2019: The Yankees select Hayden Wesneski 195th overall

To this point, the Yankees have taken two shortstops, an outfielder, and three lefty college pitchers in this year’s draft. Now, in the sixth round, the Bombers have selected right-handed pitcher Hayden Wesneski from Sam Houston State at 195th overall. He ranked in at 182 on MLB.com and 302nd on Baseball America’s top 500.

Wesneski stands at six-foot-three and 210 pounds. He was a 33rd round pick by the Rays in 2016, but decided to go on to college where he has excelled. The right-hander posted a 3.32 ERA this year with 9.
