MLB Draft 2016: Yankees select C Keith Skinner 218th overall

The Yankees selected right-handed catcher Keith Skinner with their seventh round pick out of the University of North Florida. He has bounced around a bit in his college career, playing at Fairfield in 2013 before transferring to Seminole State for the 2014 season and eventually to North Florida for the final two years.

Skinner isn't ranked in the top 500 by Baseball America. He batted .382/.466/.486 with 16 doubles and 40 RBI this season. The 22-year-old is 6'1" and 185 pounds, and was named Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week back on April 20th. Skinner set a North Florida record for most RBI in a game with nine in a game against Jacksonville on April 19.
