KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Unbeaten Michael Pineda is handed the ball and asked to put a stop to the New York Yankees' three-game losing streak in the start of a three-game set against the defending AL champion Kansas City Royals. The right-hander (5-0) is starting on his regular four days' rest after a tremendous outing when he became the fourth Yankees pitcher to post 16 strikeouts in a nine-inning game, just two K's short of Ron Guidry's team record.
