Adeiny Hechavarria is trading boroughs.
The solid infielder, whom the Yankees traded for just before last season’s Sept. 1 deadline, signed a minor league deal with the Mets on Sunday, The Post confirmed. Hechavarria will get an invitation to major league camp, where he’ll try to win a job in a crowded infield.
The veteran 29-year-old is renowned for his glove, primarily at shortstop, where he could back up Amed Rosario. The Mets have added Robinson Cano, Jed Lowrie and J.D. Davis to their infield options, while bringing back Jeff McNeil and T.J. Rivera. But Hechavarria plays the best shortstop defense of the bunch.
