Matt Harvey’s injury bud and protégé is a Yankees stud

PORT ST. LUCIE — While Matt Harvey attempted to get back to being the pitcher who struck fear into hitters and also grabbed New York with both hands, he had a workout partner looking to make his first mark on the city.

James Kaprielian, who the Yankees hope can make an impact in The Bronx sooner rather than later, is a fellow Scott Boras client, so he and Harvey bonded at Boras’ training facility in southern California in January.

It was the second straight year in which the two 6-foot-4 right-handers spent time together, this time with Harvey coming back from surgery to correct thoracic outlet syndrome and Kaprielian shaking off the effects of a year largely lost to a strained right flexor tendon.
