With Slade Heathcott‘s call up to the big leagues, the Yankees announced earlier today that Mason Williams has been called up to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre from Double-A Trenton.
The promotion is well earned for Willams, who’s resurrected his standing as a top Yankees prospect since falling off from his early success in the organization after he was drafted. Williams was hitting .317/.407/.375 with 11 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 34 games with Trenton before the call-up.
Williams, 23, was drafted in the fourth round (145th overall) in the 2010 amateur draft.
