The Yankees aren’t giving up on Greg Bird, and neither is Mark Teixeira.
The former major league first baseman and current ESPN analyst told The Michael Kay Show on Thursday that it’s still too early to judge the slumping Bird, who’s hitting a scant .191 this season.
“I’ve always thought that in a normal season when a guy starts in April, you need to give him 100, maybe even 150 at-bats to really see where he is. Birdy’s not even there yet,” Teixeira said. “So, he’s proven that he’s got talent.
