Mariano Rivera’s unanimous Baseball Hall of Fame election came with a surprising revelation.
Major League Baseball’s all-time saves leader was famous for coming into the late stages of Yankees’ games to the tune of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” a song that became synonymous with the closer.
In an interview with MLB Network on Tuesday, Rivera was asked about his entrance music, specifically regarding how many times he’d seen the band perform.
“With all due respect to the guys, I’ve never been to one of them,” he said, laughing.
