The Manny Machado sweepstakes took another turn on Friday.
The slugging infielder’s father, Manuel, made it sound like a surprise is coming in his son’s never-ending free agency.
“I believe that the team you will probably less think about is the one that’s gonna sign Manny Machado,” he told reporter Hector Gomez.
Manuel Machado said his son has received offers from the Yankees, Dodgers and Phillies, though that does not mesh with previous reporting with the only known offer coming from the White Sox.
Manuel said there is a lot of interest from the White Sox, who reportedly offered the four-time All-Star a seven-year deal worth $175 million.
