Got nine questions in the mailbag this week. As always, the place to send any and all mailbag-related correspondence is RABmailbag (at) gmail (dot) com. Thanks in advance.
Dan asks: In February of 2003, the Yankees signed Jon Lieber to a two year contract knowing that he wouldn’t be able to pitch until 2004. The same thing the Twins did with Michael Pineda and the Rays did with Nathan Eovaldi. Would it make sense to try something similar with Garrett Richards?
The Yankees did this with David Aardsma and Andrew Bailey more recently, though neither of those deals worked out as hoped.
