The Yankees’ biggest weakness just got a lot more worrisome.
Luis Severino, the ace of the rotation, was scratched from Tuesday’s spring training outing due to right shoulder discomfort. Severino will undergo further evaluation and examination on Tuesday, the team announced.
The Yankees’ rotation has quality, but lacks depth outside the top five. Severino signed a four-year, $40 million extension this offseason with a club option for 2023.
