King Felix hands Yankees fourth loss in a row

The Yankees had become rather proficient at stranding runners in scoring position over the previous four games, delivering all of three singles in 34 at-bats, and only one actually brought in a run. Now King Felix was the guy standing between them and breaking out at Yankee Stadium.

Felix Hernandez brought along a 0.69 ERA and a .089 opposing batting average from his first two starts for Seattle. The Yankees certainly had their chances against him, but it was more of the same. They went 0-for-9 in the RISP stat over Hernandez’s five innings and 0-for-12 in the game, leaving 14 on base.
