NEW YORK -- The threat of rain pushed the start time for the Red Sox-Yankees series opener back six hours, so the batter's box at Yankee Stadium belonged to Aaron Judge on Tuesday morning. And all went well, so he'll be taking cuts in front of the home fans tonight.
Judge was inserted in the lineup vs. Boston, batting second and playing in right field. The 26-year-old returned to the field on Friday, but did not bat, playing two innings in right.
Earlier on Tuesday, Judge participated in a simulated game -- his second in as many days -- inviting a crowd of club executives to gather on the field and in the dugout as they evaluated their rehabbing slugger's swings against Minor League right-hander Adonis Rosa.
