If Jose Berrios was feeling any nerves Thursday afternoon, a little more than 24 hours shy of taking the ball for Game 1 of the ALDS against the Yankees on Friday night, the Twins right-hander certainly wasn’t showing it.
Before he took the stage for a press conference, the 25-year-old faked throwing up in a nearby trash can. Later, when asked if he had all his pitches where he wanted them, Berrios remained loose.
“Yes. I can’t say no, because I pitch tomorrow,” he said with a laugh.
Berrios will try to get the Twins off on the right foot against the Yankees’ powerhouse lineup, after a regular season in which he was 14-8 with a 3.
