There was a moment a little over a week ago when it seemed like Jonathan Loáisiga would be on his way back to the Yankees’ bullpen in just a little while. Shortly after Opening Day, he had been placed on the injured list with right elbow inflammation, but even after experiencing soreness last Wednesday and getting shut down from throwing, an MRI over the weekend revealed “nothing structurally alarming.”
The Yankees wanted to have a doctor to check Loáisiga out today anyway though, and while his elbow doesn’t need Tommy John surgery or anything like that, he does need to undergo a procedure on his elbow to remove a bone chip.
