John Sterling doesn’t plan on leaving any time soon.
The longtime Yankees announcer and color commentator Suzyn Waldman went on the Sports Illustrated Media Podcast, and both were asked about what the near future holds for them.
The pair expressed their plans to stick around, and as host Jimmy Traina was wrapping up the interview, Sterling went out of his way to make his commitment clear.
“I will tell you this: We have no plans to retire,” Sterling said. “We have plans to do this for a long time.”
Sterling’s iconic streak of calling Yankees games ended in July at 5,060 straight, when he took a four-game break after “feeling under the weather.
