Joe Girardi is helping Yankees bullpen get exposed

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Aroldis Chapman is bullpen majesty. Without him, the Yankees are going to have to find a different path to success, besides Dellin Betances closing games.

There is a domino effect, and it reared its ugly head in the Yankees’ 5-4 loss to the Rays on Friday night, as the bullpen surrendered four runs over the last four innings.

The Yankees can’t allow it to become a bullpen mess.

Three times during manager Joe Girardi’s pregame press conference Saturday, in the third-base dugout at Tropicana Field, an emergency alarm sounded on the phones in the dugout.
