Alex Rodriguez will chase Willie Mays’ home run record Monday night at the Stadium and he will do it from a familiar spot.
A-Rod, who, with 659 career homers is one shy of Mays’ fourth spot on the all-time list will be at third base when the Yankees open a three-game set against the Rays.
Rodriguez, who hit No. 659 Sunday night off the Mets’ Jon Niese, will be facing Rays starter Nate Karns, whom he homered off on April 17 in Tampa.

While it could be a big night at the Stadium for Rodriguez and Yankee fans, the Yankees themselves may not be in a celebratory mood.
