Just as one hops off the Yankees’ injured list, another one may take his place.
That is their harsh reality this season.
James Paxton mysteriously exited Friday night’s start against the Minnesota Twins just three innings and 64 pitches into the outing, and was seen heading down The Stadium tunnel with a trainer as the Yankees were up 2-1. As of now, it’s unclear why Paxton was summoned to the clubhouse; he was placed by reliever Jonathan Holder.
Paxton, who has emerged as the club’s ace amid Luis Severino (shoulder inflammation) missing the beginning of the season, has battled a slew of injuries throughout his career.
