James Paxton has gotten plenty of offense behind him during his seven-game winning streak, and that was the case again Tuesday, when the Yankees blasted five homers in a 10-1 victory over the Rangers at the Stadium.
On this night, though, Paxton didn’t need any assistance.
He allowed just one hit — and two base runners — in seven dominant shutout innings in his best start since April.
Paxton didn’t allow a hit until Isiah Kiner-Falefa grounded a single through the right side of the infield with two outs in the fifth.
He struck out five of the first six batters he faced, with just a two-out walk in the first mixed in.
