ARLINGTON, Texas — There had to be a lot of Yankees officials and minor-league staffers pretty nervous Monday as the most touted of their pitching prospects visited a team doctor to undergo an MRI for a sore elbow.
They don't want to see any of their talented young arms lose valuable development time, but especially 6-foot-4 righty James Kaprielian, who has the potential to jet from A-ball to the big leagues.
Everyone can exhale.
This issue doesn't appear to be anything close to a worse-case scenario, just some easily curable inflammation.
"The MRI came came out good for us," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said before his team opened a series against the Texas Rangers.
