At this rate, Jacoby Ellsbury is going to wind up with more injuries than hits this season.
Already having been sidelined with an oblique injury that required a stint on the disabled list this spring and a hip issue that resulted in a cortisone shot last week, Ellsbury is now dealing with plantar fasciitis.
“We’re just trying to get him back to a point where he can start in on baseball activities and we’ll go from there,’’ Aaron Boone said before Monday’s game against the Marlins in The Bronx.
