J.A. Happ handles Twins to help case for Yankees’ wild-card start

MINNEAPOLIS — In public, the Yankees refuse to concede the AL East to the Red Sox. Privately, it’s impossible to ignore the math which tells you manager Aaron Boone’s club is headed to the AL wild-card game where the A’s are a lock to be the opponent.

And when the Yankees officially land in the one-and-done contest, they will all agree with David Robertson about where that crap shoot must be played.

“At home and that goes for any series at any time,’’ Robertson said before the Yankees topped the Twins, 7-2, in front of 21,565 at Target Field on Monday night.
