J.A. Happ contracts “mild case” of hand, foot, and mouth disease

Last week, Major League Baseball saw their first seasonal case of hand, foot, and mouth disease when New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard was placed on the 10-day disabled list. However, Syndergaard wasn’t the only New York starter to contract the disease.

According to George A. King of the New York Post, lefty J.A. Happ contracted a “very mild case” of hand, foot, and mouth disease and was promptly sent to New York Presbyterian Hospital. Happ will not be with the team for tonight’s contest against the Baltimore Orioles.

J.A. Happ was sent home Tuesday due to contracting hand, foot and mouth disease.
