KANSAS CITY, Mo. — With the Royals starting lefties Danny Duffy on Saturday and Eric Skoglund on Sunday, there is a chance right-handed hitting outfielder Clint Frazier could be in the lineup for each game.
“I would say likely for [Saturday],’’ Yankees manager Aaron Boone said of Frazier making his 2018 debut. “But I evaluate that at the end of each day.’’
While Greg Bird is progressing well during a minor league rehab assignment that has him at Double-A Trenton, center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury has been betrayed by another body part.
Before the Yankees’ 5-2 loss Friday night, Boone said Ellsbury hasn’t been able to participate in baseball activities because of a back problem.
