Inside Yankees' Didi Gregorius' hot start

TORONTO — Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius is off to a hot start at the plate, and hitting coach Alan Cockrell said a small adjustment the 26-year-old made has gone a long way.

Throughout spring training, the lefty-swinging Gregorius made it a point to focus on keeping his right shoulder closer to the plate as pitches have come toward him, Cockrell told NJ Advance Media before the Yankees' 3-2 win over the Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre on Tuesday.

That's allowed Gregorius to keep his eyes on the ball for longer, and to drive through pitches the opposite way, Cockrell said.
