A look at the connections between the Yankees and Twins franchises:
- Michael Pineda: The starting pitcher’s Yankees tenure was cut short by Tommy John surgery in 2017, but he signed a two-year deal with the Twins that offseason and returned to the mound this year to go 11-5 with a 4.01 ERA. He won’t be available for the playoffs, though, after being suspended for PEDs in September.
- Jake Cave: The Yankees drafted Cave in the sixth round in 2011, but he never got a chance to play for them.
