NEW YORK -- Greg Bird's seventh-inning home run off Cleveland Indians reliever Andrew Miller was extra impressive when you take into considering this one factor: Miller doesn't give up runs to left-handed hitters.
Of his three homers given up this season, only one had been to a lefty. That particular lefty was Dodgers' first baseman Cody Bellinger, the son of former Yankee Clay Bellinger and the runaway favorite to win NL Rookie of the Year honors.
Miller wasn't really aware of that fact and even tried to demur, saying he's given up lots of home runs this season and there had to be more than one to a lefty.
