The chance to own some Yogi Berra memorabilia ain’t over yet — in fact, it just started.
Thousands of items from the legendary Yankees catcher’s personal collection, including his 1953 World Series championship ring are part of a month-long auction that went online Tuesday.
“His ‘53 championship ring is a real collector’s item because it has a diamond ‘Five’ on it,” his son, Dale, said in a statement. “It was given to the few players like dad and Phil Rizzuto who had won five World Series in a row. That’s a very special piece.”
Owning the ring — the only one from his 10 titles that he actually wore — won’t come cheap.
