TAMPA -- Yankees second baseman Tyler Wade did a good job the other day of pretending not to know that he definitely will be on the Opening Day roster.
You can't blame him for not being the first to pass along the good news. Wade still is a baby as a big leaguer, after all, as a 23-year-old with just 30 games and 58 at-bats worth of experience.
Turns out, Wade had been told last weekend that he'd made the team and Boone made it public after Tuesday's game.
"I'm excited," Wade said on Wednesday before the Yankees' 9-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles.
