How Yankees' Gleyber Torres is handling move to 2nd base

TAMPA -- Yankees right-hander Luis Cessa made a pitchers'-best-friend pitch in the third inning of Wednesday's spring game.

The Detroit Tigers had runners on first and second with nobody out when Sergio Alcantara barreled up a pitch and smoked a groundball a couple steps to the left of Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres.

This was a double-play ball if there ever was one.

Torres has great instincts, and he was right there in flash spearing the ball with a backhand stop.

And then ...

Whoops.

Torres had plenty of time, but he went too fast trying to flip the ball to shortstop Didi Gregorius at second, it somehow came out of his glove and rolled away.
