NEW YORK -- Yankees outfielder Dustin Fowler used crutches to hobble his way into the same media room that manager Joe Girardi uses for his interviews before and after every game at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday.

An oversized brace covered Fowler's right knee, the one that gave out during the first inning of his first Major League game on his first day as a big leaguer when he crashed into a wall chasing a foul ball during a Yankees-White Sox game in Chicago on June 29.
