How Yankees' Aaron Boone covered for Giancarlo Stanton after rough day

TAMPA -- The sun was enough to make nearby Clearwater Beach heaven and left field hell at George M. Steinbrenner Field.

Still, Giancarlo Stanton and his manager, Aaron Boone, each said they believe Stanton played well in his first foray in left in years in Sunday's 9-1 loss to the Rays.

And that was despite the preponderance of evidence that Stanton, a natural right fielder, didn't, in fact, look all that great.

"I honestly look at it as kind of a positive," Boone said after the game.
