How pitchers are getting Gary Sanchez out

Gary Sanchez’s month of August was the stuff of legend. In one month he hit 11 home runs while batting an astronomical .318/.387/.682 to earn consecutive Player of the Week Awards. It seemed like there was no end in sight for this magical run, but then September happened and things became a little more reasonable. Now he’s hitting just .218/.290/.473 with four home runs over the last 18 days, and it’s likely because pitchers have finally figured out how to get him out.

If you’ve been watching Gary Sanchez’s at-bats–and you should be–it’s honestly not that hard to figure out how to get him out.
