CHICAGO (CBSNewYork/AP) — Clint Frazier is probably wondering Sunday what he has to do to earn the right to stay in the big leagues.
All the hot-hitting 24-year-old has done is hit .320 in June, including four multi-hit games in his last nine.
Despite that – and being one of the Yankees’ steadiest outfielders – Frazier was squeezed out of the lineup and sent down to the minors Sunday. It’s another frustrating episode in what’s been a breakout season for the former top prospect.
The Yankees got AL home run leader Edwin Encarnación in a late-night trade with Seattle, then made the roster move following a 10-3 win over the Chicago White Sox.
